Ezy Reading |
I wish we could go back
To those old cobblestones
To an old city
Where at last we found some peace
A chance for escape
Nothing would hold us back
Closed our eyes, took the leap
And hearts opened
We lost ourselves-
“If only for a minute”, she said
“Let’s see what happiness feels like.”
Hand-in-hand, we walked through the truth
They’re wrong, you know-
I’ll take ignorance over
“Better to have loved and lost”
For there’s no solace in broken memories
Sometimes, I wonder if you’re better
I wonder if we could ever be
It matters not- I’m the one who’s lost now
So it goes, I suppose. Oh for that old city.
Ezy Reading is out every month.
