but you can keep your puppies
and kittens,
and little piglets wearing rainboots.
Baby seals? Sod off.
Lambs, cubs and bunnies?
No.
Chicks? They can fuck off too.
Because, see
for me
there is
NOTHING
cuter in this world
than when my girlfriend
is lying in bed,
under the comforter
(while I’m pottering about the apartment)
and, thinking I can’t hear her
she utters,
in the sweetest
most endearing
(yet genuinely pained)
voice:
“I’m cold!”
It brings an instant smile to my face;
makes my heart melt.
And in that moment,
all I want to do
is run to her.
