(Sep 2014) Poetry From The Cud: |
Down
By the old ice cream parlour
Where we used to sit
As kids
And dream
Of tomorrow
I caught myself looking
At the shadow
On the sidewalk
Of a man
Grown quickly
Back in the day
We tried
To swap shadows
Leaping
Back and forth
In a fruitless dance
Used to wonder
If we could swap souls
In those shadows
So I might forget
Those yesterdays
Find me an out
Because lately-
I’m chasing down those ghosts again
Of you
Of me
Those fading slivers of our youth
