Recently I took a long overdue trip to Japan, one that was more than 15 years in the making. This was not like any previous overseas trip I'd taken as I had the good fortune of staying with a very good friend, a local. This trip was about a friendship and these photos were taken as I experienced the Japanese culture the way a local would... without going to all the tourist haunts.
