How We End Up Marrying The Wrong People
Here at The Cud we are certainly not in the business of offering up relationship advice, however this recent article from The Philosophers' Mail caught our attention.
While not necessarily one for romantics, we were struck by the blanket pragmatism that runs throughout the piece, in essence arguing against the kinds of sentimentality and gut instinct that so often drive people into (what will often, ultimately, become failed) relationships. Understanding oneself is of course an important step prior to embarking upon any relationship, but searching for 'perfect' love and happiness is, by the article, always doomed to fail because perfection quite simply doesn't exist.
Whether you agree or disagree with the article's thesis, it makes for compelling reading either way.
